Policy Governance Summit 8/28/2025We are excited to invite you to the third annual Trust Policy Governance Summit, where experts will explore timely education issues at the intersection of legal liability, governance, and district policy.
Join us on August 28 at the Camby Hotel in Phoenix for an engaging event featuring Lance Thonvold, a former professional baseball player and renowned inspirational speaker. Lance will share insights on perseverance, mental health, and leadership. This opportunity is designed for governing board members, superintendents, board secretaries, staff cabinet members, and administrative staff.
This year's summit will cover important topics, including: Hartzell v. Marana Unified School District (a recent case on schools’ authority to regulate parental behavior on campus), general liability issues, SROs and district collaboration, Title IX, and legislative updates. These discussions are crucial for navigating the evolving landscape of educational governance and policy.
The Summit will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:45 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Attendees who require overnight accommodations may book a room at the Camby Hotel or other nearby hotels.
